Competitors analytics tool | Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers and general information about the competitors analytics tool in HubSpot.

Why isn't my competitors report updated?

The competitors analytics tool automatically updates every seven days. You can check the last update date by viewing the Last report date column.

To get updated data on a specific domain:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Reports > Analytics Tools.
  • Click Competitors.
  • Click the gear icon next to the domain you want to update and select Update website.

If the domain you selected still does not update, try clearing your browser's cache.

Why isn't my site showing a traffic rank in the competitors analytics tool?

Traffic rank is your website's rank compared to other sites. This data is collected by an external service, Alexa, and displayed in HubSpot.

If you do not see a value for traffic rank in the tool after refreshing the data in the report:

Why doesn't the competitors report see the link to my blog on my website?

To grade your blog, the competitors analytics tool looks for a link to the blog in your website. The URL linked on your site must match your blog URL. If the tool isn’t able to find the link to your blog, ensure that the link doesn’t redirect to a different URL.

If the competitors analytics tool is still unable to detect your blog URL after checking for redirects, manually add the blog URL to the tool:

  • In your HubSpot account, navigate to Reports > Analytics Tools.
  • Click Competitors.
  • Click your domain.
  • In the upper right, click Marketing Grader Report.
  • Click the gear icon settings under your domain name.edit-competitors-details-
  • In the dialog box, enter your blog URL, then click Save
